Daddy Said

Written 10-31-07. Things aren't quite like this poem makes them seem.

Daddy says he loves me
though i’m not quite convinced
He says everything will be alright
but why should i trust his lying word?
Daddy says he loves me
but that’s hard to believe when he’s screaming in my face
He tells me he’s sorry
but i know he’ll do it all over again tomorrow
Daddy says he loves me
but i’ve got bruises to prove otherwise
He says he didn’t mean to
i can no longer speak
Daddy said he loved me
though i’ve got scars to prove otherwise
He left without a word
but i still feel the pain
Why didn’t daddy love me?

Oh my gosh that is so sad!
i have a very loving dad! i feel SO lucky to have a good dad. but this shows there are bad dads out there... it makes me want to cry
