Frozen KissesA Poem by Sherry AsburyA poem to point to the plight of the homelessFrozen Kisses Bitter zing of winter’s tongue kissing eagerly, trying to find a place to press its arctic breath against skin that is pale and blind Frantic glitter in the ginger air giving each head a hat of lace The homeless live with no shelter to protect their exposed ,frozen bones Lips blue in the rage of freezing rain try to taste some hint of spring, but ice-knives and deadening cold are all that will fill their shivering days
