"There's no Coming Back"

"There's no Coming Back"

A Poem by Night

loneliness, boy, alone, lonely

I saw a wooden box today...

Gather round now and bow your head
In the land of the living we mourn the dead

There's no coming back from heaven or hell
There's nothing to buy and nothing to sell.

No collect calls and nothing to give
There's nothing left to the life you've lived.

So live your life now and live your life well
Cause there's no coming back from heaven or hell.

I saw a wooden box today...

Very strong, very serious write- 'We must live life to its fullest- to make a difference- to help, care & love as long as we can' - Unique & interesting write, yet dark & quite emotional. But as always- incredible piece of work.

'I saw a wooden box today...'

love this line- but (for me) it brought out a feeling of lonliness- like an empty box...

Sorry, I haven't been reviewing your writings I've been busy with school.

This is quite the wake up call and heartfelt... I was not sad as much as I was inspired.
GREAT WRITE!

Wooden boxes always bring me to a bad place in my head, even when you're cremated they put you in a damn 'wooden box'....too many reminders of people lost. Good message in this one though David. Well said...

Cleverly penned. To me I think it reflects my own thoughts when-assuming I am grasping the meaning-when seeing such wood boxes. It always reminds me that someday I will lie in one, my family and loved ones will lie in one some day. And there is nothing we can do to avoid this. But before I start on a long ramble let me just finish by saying this was a genuine gem.

Thank you Raven, Until then...let us truly live the lives we've been blessed with...=)
You've conveyed the message well. Live while you can for tomorrow is never promised. I like the reference to the coffin. Well done.
