Can you see me Mama...

Do you know the reason why.

Could you feel the pain I felt

Did you see the tears I cried.

Can you see me Mama...

Did you see your little girl

Broken and alone

In this great big lonely world.

I knew you'd come to see me

Even though I'm fast asleep...

And the flowers are so beautiful

Oh Mama don't you weep.

This is beautifully written- yet quite sad. You are such an elegant writer with so much talent. I read this a couple of times- as tears filled my eyes. Very dramatic & emotional write. It reached in and grabbed a hold of my heart. Thank you for sharing this truly touching piece of poetry.

Awe, I'm sorry to hear of your loss....you take care and thank you very much...=)
This is so heartbreaking.
There are some angels who long for the love of their parents- those unwanted children, and those who were not given the chance to live longer in this world.
I have seen the same picture somewhere in my memory...

Thanks for sharing.

This brought to mind that song by Barbra "Papa, Can You Hear Me', which gave it an even more emotional twist, not that it needed it, so somber and affecting. Such a gorgeous read David. Thanks for sharing this one.
