"The Second Child"

"The Second Child"

A Poem by Night
"

...it's where desire lives.

"

Night...!

There is a place

where

few have been.

A place of flesh

and

 mortal sin.

The darkened sky

gives way

to rain.

A rigid cold

like

drizzled pain.

Where pleasure

soothes

the troubled mind.

Deep inside

you might

just find...

A second child

that lives

within...

A place of flesh

and

mortal sin.

you are very welcome i really enjoyed it
This brings to mind Cain and Able...only Cain was first there...
The struggle of the first and the second child will always be...Each man's fight.
A bitter legacy of Adam's children...

Thanks you for the very insightful poem.

I think we all have that second child deep within. The rational first child rears his head to me( but not often enough) in time to save me. Great write

Neva...always a pleasure to see you here...thank you for the love...:)
This reminds me of myself when I am upset. After the anger and pain comes a little girl ready to go play at the playground. Great piece of literature

Your welcome
great write David, I like this one best so far of what I have read of yours. It just clips along, and lends itself to being read aloud quite splendidly. I'm a bit of a nut for aural stimulation. ;)

Some might argue this is the first child and the second child is the moral, less dominant one ;-) Great write, David.
