My Walk with Jesus

My Walk with Jesus

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

My Walk with Jesus

With me through good times and bad,

He’s held me together, loved me without lack.

Bonding my heart to Himself,

There is no greater wealth.

I’ve backslid,

I’ve sinned.

In hard times, I’ve cried,

Tears I could not hide.

But Jesus was there,

Even when I wasn’t aware.

I thought I was hidden from His sight,

And alone, I had to strive.

My walk with Jesus,

A whole picture made with pieces.

Trusting in Him, I’m never alone;

Jesus, fixer of my wrongs.

Though I was blind to His deeds,

He soon caused me to see.

I was deaf to His Word; I did not hear.

But He opened my listening ear.

I call to my King,

And He hears when I sing.

I call on the Lord,

Who listens all the more.

I cry out in pain,

And His grace sustains.

His mercy endures,

His love, it is pure.

He knows my next step,

For He is my help.

One day I know I will be raised

In His saving grace.

He will take me by the hand

And cause me to stand.

For His promise never ceases,

And I will walk with Jesus!
