I Take You Personally

I Take You Personally

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

I Take You Personally

At the cross

He took my place.

His poured blood

He made a way.

Love knew best,

The best He graciously gave.

The price was steep,

For Christ came to save.

I take You personally,

As You gave Your Son

So I could live

And have eternal life, undone.

Knowing Your plan,

You bridged the gap for all time.

The only way to get to You,

Laid down His life.

I take You personally,

A shield for safety and assurance.

My life is not my own but

Used to glorify You in life’s dance.

Lord of my life,

Help me to become bold.

Telling of Your love

More precious than gold.

I take You personally,

The Living Word being the goal.

For You personally gave Jesus

To redeem my soul.

Indeed, life can be a "dance"; including for love. At Sunday school and church, I was encouraged to believe that God had a "plan"; so I can relate to your use of that word too.

In the final line, you refer to redemption; which is ultimately what all true Christians (like yourself) aspire to achieving.

I am agnostic though, so do remember that I am of mixed mind; whilst still open to the potential reality of God. I have admitted this to you, before. But, would never mock or undermine your good faith.

I apologise too, that my previous reviews bordered on being flippant. On Saturday, I hope to have some more online time; if work is less on my mind.

I have not forgotten that you have your own website, and a published poet. Fond thoughts.

You would be welcome to reach me by email too, at [email protected]
