A wonderful poem dear Melinda. We need the kindness of Jesus today. Old world getting ugly. I liked the hope and positive feel of your words. Thank you my friend for sharing the amazing poetry.

This one links with the parable, about the relatively small quantity of loaves and fishes; which Jesus used to feed a large crowd of his avid listeners. Five thousand were said to have been fed, by this miracle. Even at the time, onlookers were amazed; at how many were fed with so little. This poem reminds us at the end, that Jesus provided the bread of life - but also in terms of his living body on earth; providing spiritual sustenance. It reminds us too, that Christ bled for humanity's sins on the cross; at Easter time (so remember Palm Sunday and where that cross stood proudly at Calgary). Verse one also mentions "the journey", and a journey can involve a spiritual journey; and not necessarily a literal journey over land (and occasionally circumstances can mean that the two coincide as when people of faith participate in pilgrimages). As emphasised in the second verse, God gave his one and only son; so that mere mortals on earth could be forgiven. Of course, people must ask for forgiveness sincerely and repent; as part of the deal for seeking such forgiveness. Thankyou for sharing, and keep writing. You're welcome to send me further "read requests", whenever you choose to.
