A Jesus Hug

A Jesus Hug

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

A Jesus Hug

Days come, days go,

Situations arrive that I cannot control.

When in need of a comforting embrace,

I know of my Savior’s grace.

When I cry out

Through dark clouds,

I hear myself saying in hush,

“I want a Jesus hug.”

He makes all things new,

So, He makes me new too.

In times of dire need,

He is with me.

When life is hard,

And the answer seems far…

I wish so much

For a Jesus hug.

Tears run down,

Hoping to be found.

I long to know

My Savior strong.

Closing my weary eyes,

I feel Him in my very sigh.

Opening them in triumph,
I have my Jesus hug!

Author's Note

Melinda McQueen
The other night my husband & I were watching The Chosen. I saw ‘Jesus’ hugging someone, and I said, “I want a Jesus Hug!” Andy said “He does every day, Dear!” So, this poem came to be.
