Abundant Rain

Abundant Rain

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

Abundant Rain

The rain pours

Like aloe from its plant.

Washing the earth

In a spring abundant.

Trees soak in

Nourishment from cloud-laden skies.

Depending upon it for leaves,

Rain falls far and wide.

Buckets fall

In sheets from way up high.

Drop by drop,

Nothing can hide.

God’s abundant grace pours

Into parched hearts as a flood.

Love was sent and paid

The price with His blood.

The heavens opened

As His power rained down.

Christ suffered,

But now wears the crown.

Here to find,

He’s waiting to take your pain…

Wanting to wash you

In His abundant rain.
