Colors of SkyA Poem by Melinda McQueenColors of Sky
Sky grey… How heavy you look, Like a black sand bottle shook Under pressure Beyond measure. How deep your rage, How strong your gage.
Orange sky… How luminous are you, Like a freshly peeled fruit. Brightness covers your border. A hope for a better tomorrow That relieves all sorrow.
Sky pink… How you welcome the new day, Like an usher at a wedding in May. Soft is your touch, A promise of much. Calm in your color In the pallet as no other.
Sky grey. Bloated with grief. Orange sky, Safely and surely abides. Sky pink, True love’s eyes never blink.
When all of these arrive ‘Neath a morning’s sky, What a sight glorious. A strength victorious!
Sky grey, Orange sky, Sky pink.
