Me For You

Me For You

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

Me For You

I saw you ev’ry day

Way back when we were young.

Our paths crossed by fate,

Yet unbeknownst to us.

Then you were no longer seen,

Knowing where you’d gone, I was none the wise.

When hearing a rumor,

I learned of your demise!

Saddened your life was cut short,

I kept on living with your memory.

How sad to die a tragic death!

That your life ended early.

Ov’r the years God spoke your name to me,

But why the name Andy? I didn’t know.

I wanted to find true love, but none stayed,

Dousing my hope.

Though I hadn’t a clue,

He was saving me for you!
