Let it RainA Poem by Melinda McQueenLet it Rain
The rain is coming down, Falling upon fertile ground. A refreshing fill To the dry field. Driving downward, The land’s reward.
A silvery sky Has birthed from its heights. The thirsty earth drinks And comes back from a brink. Desolate and needing care, The rain is an answered prayer.
Grace, oh what grace, That showers the place" The place in need Of the touch of the Almighty. A barren space needing touched By its Maker’s love.
Mercy upon mercy, Renewing hearts does He. Pouring out from on high, His love far and wide. Sending His Son, To gather us as one.
His mercy reigns, Nourishing hearts with gain, Christ has come And the victory’s won! Wash our hearts, Lord, Let it rain forevermore.
