The Heart of GodA Poem by Melinda McQueenThe Heart of God
The angels looked Upon the newly born baby Who was heaven’s gift, And of joy did they sing.
The most perfect gift, Cradled in his mother’s arms. Love like no other Looked up with eyes warm.
Tiny and fragile, Yet as strong as a rock. For tucked inside Was the heart of God.
This baby, A blessing foretold. This baby, Came to uphold.
The promise kept, The child breathed new life For one and all, A life prophesied.
He would grow up To reclaim what was robbed, So He could lead us To the heart of God.
