Bringing Heaven Down

Bringing Heaven Down

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

Bringing Heaven Down

Making a way,

He emptied a lofty heaven

Of its greatest treasure,

As His Son was sent.

Way up high

In His rightful place,

He looked down

And beheld disgrace.

His plan set in motion,

Long ago, God devised a plan.

He would come and save

The souls of man.

He first promised--

By His prophets, He foretold.

The Son of God,

The world would behold.

In His perfect time,

He sent Christ, His only Son.

No matter what,

The victory’s won.

For Jesus was born,

Bringing heaven down to us,

So we could someday

Go to Him, a bride joyous.
