How could I ever say

What You mean to me?

Words could never

Tell of Your glory.

 

A bubbly stream

Rushing in its eternal flow.

Refreshing river,

Like water unto my soul.

 

You’ve poured into me

Your life-saving, life-giving grace.

Blessings upon blessings,

You are mighty in all Your ways.

 

Like mighty waterfalls

Wash over my highs and lows,

You wash me clean,

Like water unto my soul.

 

Thirsty I come,

And all my desire You quench.

With me through my hurts,

As my life You stitch.

 

You keep me, Lord,

This my heart fully knows.

For You nourish me,

Like water unto my soul.

Water washes us clean, it restores our flesh and bones and quenches our thirst. Likewise the blood of Christ washes us clean, restores our souls and quenches our thirst for righteousness. The analogy is a good one and strong in so many ways. We are born of blood and water from the womb. We are born again through the blood of Christ and the water of baptism. The symbolism and metaphor abound here. Well done. I enjoyed the read.
