To Commune With You

To Commune With You

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

To Commune with You

How sweet,

And so delicate.

To share time

In an embrace.

Here I sit,

Awaiting You.

For my soul yearns--

Yearns to commune.

To hear from You,

Does my heart long.

Your mercy and grace

Have become my song.

So, here I sit,

Loving my Jesus.

May these words

Reach the One who reaches.

For You saw it good

To come live to die.

Giving up Your throne

To give everlasting life.

Let me be still,

That from You I may hear.

Soften my heart

To hear with my spiritual ear.

Here You are,

In our special place true.

Thanks to Your Holy Spirit,

With You, I can commune.
