The Woman by the SeaA Poem by Melinda McQueenThe Woman by the Sea
Walking along the beach, Soon, she comes to a stop,
Her auburn hair A cascade of curls at her spine
She is looking into the sea, Is there a heaviness in her heart
Wearing a sheer dress,
Though her face unseen, Like the bloated clouds above,
She holds in her hand flowers quite the color of the sea. In her halfhearted grasp, They hang miserably.
Is she heartbroken? Did the love of her life leave? Surely, she has a story--
