A Dance of Two

A dance of two

 

One step forward,

Two rigid steps back.

A step here, a step there,

A step that falls flat.

 

A half turn

Gives way to a spin.

A turn to the right,

Then turns left again.

 

A backward motion

Eventually leads forward.

Back on track.

Skids across the board.

 

Fast pace rhythm

Dials down to a slow hum.

Like a feather upon a breeze,

A peaceful hush.

 

A major lift,

A tight, reassuring hold.

Keeping eye contact,

Strength is bold.

 

The final dip,

A love sustaining truth.

Finding worth in each step

In a dance of two.
