And so it must always be since the spiritually lost are blind and deaf and wandering. They need their Savior. They long for their heavenly home. They need the Lord God in their hearts and minds and lives. I ran away from my Lord so many times, like Jonah, angry at the world for existing. I'd like to share an anonymous verse with you. I have no idea who wrote it but it sums up how I feel about the Lord. It's titled As Peter Loved.
As Peter Loved
As Peter loved, so love I
and in this fashion
with boastful promises
and bursts of passion
with anxious wavering
and hot denials
and faith that drowns
amid a sea of trials
Yet, far beyond
my fitful love I see
His love
Forever reaching out to me
I memorized this poem long, long ago from a book I was reading and the author was unnamed. But as you can see, it is the Lord that does the reaching, even for those who retain and sustain great faith. I really enjoyed your poem. God bless, F.
dearest Melinda… “He found me” is so Beautiful… your poetry has touched my 💜 Heart… the Wisdom therein is seen in the Sky where Clouds gather … so times whir light and other times Grey Storm Clouds bring
Wonderful and beautiful words shared dear Melinda.
"His love vast,
And ever deep.
I didn’t find Him, in my lack,
He found me!"
I agree. Jesus had saved me often in my lifetime. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.
