From a Thankful Heart

 

Thankful is this heart of mine unto Thee.

Blessing upon blessings Thou has lavished

Upon me from Thy generous right hand.

Thy grace ever stills the spirit of me,

Reaching me from on high, it upholds me.

Let me praise the One who has given all

I shall ever need, who gives in fullness.

Blessed be my Lord and redeemer who lives.

 

At my cry, my Savior has heard my prayers,

Thy lovingkindness has so rescued me.

Enriched so, by Thy everlasting love,

I now cry praises to Thy holy Name.

The lifter of my head, who lifts my soul,

Thou keep me in perfect peace in Thy grace.

Surrendering my heart to Thee always,

Desiring to ever please Thee, my Lord.

 

May this, my prayer reach Thee at Thy throne,

It’s filled with thanksgiving unto Thine heart.

My heart calls for Thee with all that I am,

Seeking everything Thou art, humble me.

For I am in dire need of Thy mercy

And of Thine tender graces, which stay me

May Thy Spirit ever feel my praises.

How thankful is this heart to be so loved.
