The SailboatA Poem by Melinda McQueenThe Sailboat
The way to Silver Island is a long boat ride. The
journey is turbulent
The
longing to get to Silver Island The
want to arrive at the destination
The
sea’s water fills the sailboat, Yet,
it keeps moving,
Along
the way, it becomes heavy, But
time and again, the sailboat jostles,
Though
darkness surrounds, Knowing
where its going,
Hitting
a giant berg, but
stays afloat
Soon,
the light of day embarks
The
golden sea forever hushed, No
more turbulence,
