When Rain HealsA Poem by Melinda McQueenWhen Rain Heals
The likings of the sound of rain Are common from one to another. What is the effect is has on the soul? What is the influence of its wonder?
Tied to memories When rain poured into our lives From the treasures Unbeknown at the time.
It taps upon a tin roof, Lulls one to sleep. Children run and play In buckets of rain in heaps.
Tear-like droplets falling from heaven Reassures that some things never change. A source of cleansing is still available Throughout the age.
The refreshing smell, Potent aroma left behind. A serenity in its wake, Utterly divine.
Come, rain, come, Let the world drink You in. Heal the land from the inside out, For it’s in dire need of healing within.
