When Thy Harvest is Complete

When Thy Harvest is Complete

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

When Thy Harvest is Complete

Tested and tried

Shall we be

When at last Thou arrive.

Like a feather light,

Our souls set free.

Tested and tried.

Put through the fire,

Refined unto Thee.

When at last Thou arrive.

Adorned for Thy sight,

Prepared and favored highly.

Tested and tried.

Looking forward to the Rider in the sky,

For Thy love makes us ready.

When at last Thou arrive.

Come, Lord on high,

When Thy harvest is complete.

Tested and tried,

When at last Thou arrive.

You are welcome dear Melinda.
I admire your steadfast faith and beliefs. Once upon a time I was like that too, until life changed my way of thinking.

I think you realize I prefer poetry in plain-spoken conversational tones rather than this high-sounding Christian-eze. To me, this sounds stilted . . . the very thing that turns off non-church-going spiritual people like myself . . . as if being a good person makes one somehow holy & righteous. I don't want to be "up there" . . . I want to be down here where real people grunt & groan & face God's challenges. I'd rather see a poem that tells a story about what being a good person looks like. This just feels like word manipulation to me . . . very little feeling. Sorry I can't be more supportive of your pious works (((HUGS)))

Being a good person certainly does not make one holy & righteous. I don't think anyone could ever be.. read more

I appreciate your graceful equanimity in the face of my blunt responses to some of your stuff (((HUG.. read more
dearest Melinda... "In a twinkling of an Eye" Heaven is nigh.
We are experiencing how quickly things can happen...
I know my "Heart and Soul" is changed by current events.
We must soothe our friends, family, and neighbors ... while we wait.
