My Purple CurtainsA Poem by Melinda McQueenMy Purple Curtains
My purple curtains Were put up today. A perfect piece For my brand-new space.
My husband and I Have traded the small den For the living room. Now we have more space to live in.
My new desk, built for me, Sits in front of the window. Pattern curtains sheared in half To insert purple curtains betwixt to show.
The trees and blue sky I can now see through The sheerness of My purple curtains.
What will I write In this new space? Right now, I’m finishing this book, Hopefully with words filled with grace.
As I sit here, One thing’s certain, I will write in front of My purple curtains.
