Sunshine in My Hair

Sunshine in My Hair

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

Sunshine in My Hair

Going for a stroll

On a nice sunny day

Has always been a balm unto my soul.

For me, it’s always been that way.

A breeze flutters by,

A refreshing coolness skirts my face.

The feeling bliss,

Sunshine in my hair.

Looking around,

Everywhere speaks of

The beauty of God’s creation.

O what grace from above

Birds flying in air,

Some perch in trees.

I listen to their song

Which floats on a gentle breeze.

Pretty days of peaceful slumber

Are carved with God’s care.

Let me rejoice in He who combs

Sunshine in my hair.
