A Far Away Tune

 

I’ve dreamt dreams
far from my reach.

They seemed to drift silently
upon a cloud beyond me.

 

Reaching my heart,
they whispered from the start.

Singing to me withhold ado,

A far away tune.

 

More than thoughts in my head,
more than words I left unsaid.

As surely, these dreams I dared to dream
weren’t for me.

 

For with every desire,
my dreams haven’t retired.

My heart hears true,

A far away tune.

 

Blessed am I,
to have the desires of mine
to come to pass,
in God, I have no lack.

 

More dreams do I have,
and hope do I not lack.

For I know my prayers aren’t akin to

A far away tune.
