Love on Swan LakeA Poem by Melinda McQueenLove On Swan Lake
The boat bobbed with each wave, a soothing effort it gave. He
had a surprise, Though
she tried to guess, “Come on… tell me!” “It’s a surprise… just wait… you’ll see!” Feigning
a sad face, “We’re
almost there.” he said, She
had to admit, it was a nice day to be out, Abandoning
her inquiries, Soon, the two made their destination, and the boat was stationed. Placing
her hands over her mouth, Her
eyes panning the lake, For
all around were white swans galore, “How
beautiful!” she managed to say, “You are beautiful, Ruthie. Will you marry me?” Tears
filled her eyes “Yes, I’ll marry you!” He then, took her into his arms true. Her
hand began to shake
