The Voice Calling

The Voice Calling

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

The Voice Calling

Listen… do you hear it?

It’s calling… for you and for me.

Persistent and faithful,

It lovingly speaks.

Low and loft,

But ever so loudly, it summons.

A nudge here, a nudge there,

The Voice calling since we’ve begun.

A longing within

Desires to answer the call.

The Voice has been there

Through it all.

Lovingly posed

In amazing strength.

Having everything we desire,

The Voice calling for you and me.

How great is His love,

Which keeps the soul from falling.

Listen… you will hear it…

The Voice calling.

you`re welcome
I am listening but do not hear it. It hasn't always been that way. You reminded me of the times many years ago when my hearing was better and my faith stronger. You write beautiful poetry Melinda and I thank you for it.
