Hope, Despite the StormA Poem by Melinda McQueenHope, Despite the Storm
The storm raged, thundering at a devastating pace. The roaring felt to her toes, vibrating in her as woes.
For she felt every rift in her core, her soul desperate to implore-- to call out and be rid of the turmoil which felt like murky soil.
The winds blew fierce, and strikes as lightning pierced. She felt alone in the storm of her own.
Making her way to the window, uncertain, she pulled back the curtains, and her eyes feasted on a sunshine day… on the beauty were they trained.
She realized the storm had been inside-- inside herself, where her innermost resides. Letting out a calming breath, she also realized that she felt her best.
As if a light had shone, beckoning her on. Onward to her future up ahead, and instead of darkness, she felt hope instead.
