A Blessing in Disguise

A Blessing in Disguise

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

A Blessing in Disguise

A single tear rolled down her cheek,

as she watched his car go down the street.

Something told her that she would never see him again.

Their time had come to an end.

As the cold wind blew her hair,

all she could do was stare.

A part of her knew it would happen.

Even so, it still hurt within.

Why hadn’t he talked to her about it?

She’d deserved a goodbye wish.

You know, the “It’s been great.” speech.

A year later, another door opened wide,

and a love like no other came to reside.

Her prayer had been answered in time due,

for God had closed one door in His truth…

to open another with His all-knowing hand,

to give to her what He had planned.

She has come to realize…

sometimes a broken heart is a blessing in disguise.

very wise words wraped up in a poem. Things do happen for a reason, we just can'y see why right away. After reading this I am thisnking of the Garth Brook's song "Unanswered Prayers".
