The Golden Bell

 

Let it ring loud.

Let it ring proud.

Let it bong side to side.

Let it praise the Lord on high.

 

In the things we do,

To do so, true.

In the words we speak,

The golden bell, let sing.

 

Keeping it swinging to and fro,

That all might know.

Keeping it tuned

To the Gospel truth.

 

Ev’r in motion,

In unyielding devotion.

Swinging back and forth,

The golden bell of the true north.

 

For ev’ry heart to stand

And confess Jesus Christ to the land.

Make the sound

Vibrate loud and profound.

 

Let us share the Good News to all we meet,

The most important greet.

Our honor to tell,

For we are ringers of the golden bell.

Yes! for those of Faith in Jesus Christ as sole Savior and true Son of the Creator ... He calls us to proclaim His victory .. over death and sin .. the gateway and means to enter the very presence of God. You reminded me Melinda of a poem I wrote once called Sunday at Sonning. It was about the chimes from the church bells and how they carried their echoes downstresm on the river's flow.
