A Tune for JuneA Poem by Melinda McQueenA Tune for June
Sitting on the back porch, she listened to the birds. This was her favorite pastime, as it never failed to calm her nerves.
A beautiful summer’s day graced her face with sunlight, feeling its warm beam upon her. A tune for June in flight.
Cherishing the music, her mind replayed times past-- a time when she could still see birds with their many colors without lack.
Summertime had always been her favorite, when the birds gathered in the willow. She’d bask in their beauty as a tune for June comforted like a soft pillow.
The memories in her mind’s eye were as vivid as ever, then escaped a tear. Though she lost her sight, June still felt the scenes of yesteryear.
She listened, her spirit still, as she thought upon God’s truth. For He still sent the birds to sing a tune for June.
