From Here to ThereA Poem by Melinda McQueenFrom Here to There
It lurks ahead, In every life. Progressing ever forward With each sunrise.
The future dawns On all mankind. Leaving strands of footsteps From here to there.
Beads of knowledge collected In unseen vaults. Oft times, one struggles To decide where their future halts.
Plans are laid With best of intentions, But they refuse to pan out. From here to there, it lacks fruition.
In time, we’ll be looking back At the lives we’ve led. Humbled that the expanse of years Were little pebbles compared to what’s ahead.
Closing warned eyes, Hearing with hearts instead of ears… Let the rejuvenated soul rejoice, Knowing they’ve come from there to here.
