The Thread of HopeA Poem by Melinda McQueenThe Thread of Hope
A fabric of many colors, Bright and vibrant, Suffers rents through time, Showing a lack in resilience.
Oft times, the threads pull, Out the come, one by one. The precisely laid pattern Becomes undone.
It can feel the same with life, As our threads are pulled. Like a beautifully knitted blanket, Our lives’ tapestry tend to dull.
Perhaps, just perhaps… The threads which we lose Make room for more beautiful ones Than the dull threads we tend to choose.
Soon, we realize That we have threads of Faith, Hope and Love… Which have been in wait.
For the threads of hopelessness, Hate and bitterness all had to go. But to keep us, we always possessed A glimmer of the thread of Hope.
