A Prayer for the American Soldiers

A Prayer for the American Soldiers

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

A Prayer for the American Soldiers

May each know they’re valued

And that their service to the Red, White & Blue

Is in our hearts to stay,

Today, and always.

Lord, give to them peace of heart and mind,

To know You are at their side.

They answered the call,

And many heroes took the fall.

Knowingly putting their lives were on the line,

Dutifully, did the soldiers sign.

Place Your arms around them,

And soothe the spirits of her and him.

They have been through so much,

And still their horrific memories come in a rush.

Council these warriors as only You can,

Comforting them from the heart which understands.

With humbled hearts,

Thankful are we that they did their part.

Lifting them up as on shoulders…

A prayer for the American Soldiers.

Powerful, worthwhile and strong words shared dear Melinda. We must remember the soldiers fighting now and who fought in past wars. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.

Was my pleasure and you are welcome dear Melinda.
Thank you for this, Melinda.

Whether we have agreed with our wars or not...soldiers are simply doing their duty for their country...
they protect us...they deserve our love and thanks.
