The Writer's RutA Poem by Melinda McQueenThe Writer’s Rut
The everyday domain Is always the same. Going
through daily activities
Same, hour, different day, Still have the same blank page Begging to be dressed with words. The writer’s rut at work.
So many ideas come to play, But then hide the next day. There are times when words pour, And other times there are no more.
Why do words hide When they so abide?-- Abide as feelings and emotions, The writer’s rut as deep as the ocean.
A vessel of feelings dwell In unspoken words, not to tell. But oh, how expressive The
written word is! They topple over each other to be used. I’m committed to being a receptive hub Even during the writer’s rut.
