Butterflies in FlightA Poem by Melinda McQueenButterflies in Flight
Flying free upon a breeze. Ever moving in wind meant to carry them in. She admires the beauty in sunlight, butterflies in flight. She loves to watch the magnificent creatures, tiny lives seemingly without measure. She finds herself wishing she could fly, too; to be freed from her own cocoon. She could go anywhere her heart desired, her world would be set afire. She is falling in love with the idea, though she still sits idle. Dreaming upon dreams as the colorful butterflies she sees, knowing it will never be. A dream is merely a dream. but the real dream tucked
inside her heart Her dream is grander than the Texas sky. In ways it would be easier
to fly! she is filled with hope. The butterflies swarm around her in elegant array, and a smile plays upon her face. She now knows that her dream is meant to be, if only for her heart to see. As colorful as can be, her dream is a beautiful sight… keeping her soaring high, like butterflies in flight.
