The Far Side of ForeverA Poem by Melinda McQueenThe far side of Forever
To be in good graces, Eyes setting on familiar faces. She desires the safety of his arms, Knowing full-well she’s in no harm. To see the silver lining In life’s broken wings. She still can’t believe All that’s come to be. He came into her life And made her glad she survived Heartbreak after heartbreak. The two share a love, him and her, On the far side of forever. Vowing to love always, Come what may. A force strong, Their time had come along. A love true, A love that’s at the source of all they do. The thought of what if they had never met, Can never be uttered in a thousand sunsets. To be in good graces In life’s many phases. Her heart is loved by his; This is to be cherished. Their love will last, Their love, a salve to soothe a lonely past. Now that they have found one another, Her heart belongs to him and his heart to her. The two shall be together On the far side of forever.
