Just to Be in Thy Presence

Just to be in Thy Presence

 

This world is chaos,

Someone is always hurting someone.

It never seems to lessen,

But is altogether undone.

 

Through the whipping winds

And treacherous rains,

Let me come rest awhile;

Just to be in Thy Presence is my gain.

 

Where I am found safe,

Where I can simply be.

Where I surrender to Thy love,

Where I am the real me.

 

Knowing all the parts of who I am,

Thy grace still wraps me in Thy safety.

I’d give up anything

Just to be in Thy Presence so sweet.

 

I have no control in life,

Things happen in my own

That try to make me fearful,

But Lord, I rest in Thee alone.

 

In the One who gave His life for me,

That I might believe in Thy Name with all essence…

In the One who has set my soul free, do I long…

Just to be in Thy Presence.
