Heaven's Open

Heaven's Open

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

Heaven’s Open

The stone had been rolled away.

What a sight it must have been

For Christ was not in the tomb,

But had risen.

He defeated death

When He died for everyone.

His power displayed…

Heaven’s open because His will was done.

He bore our sin

And took our pain

So eternal life we would have with Him

We will gain.

Glory be to Jesus

Who gave His life and took it up again.

Mighty is He…

Heaven’s open because of love never to end.

Taking the keys of pain and suffering,

He claimed His life.

And in doing so, claimed the world

Throughout time.

When He rose to life,

Eternal Life did begin.

So, come… the price has been paid…

Heaven’s open!
