In My King's Embrace

In My King's Embrace

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

In My King’s Embrace

When I need to feel safe,

I come to gather peace unto my soul.

Resting in complete surrender,

Knowing I’m not on my own.

When I need strength,

I come to You with cares that weigh.

Curling up

In my King’s embrace.

When I need comfort,

I come to my Savior, and You wipe my tears.

In Your Presence, Lord, am I free,

As You take my fears.

When I need to belong,

I come to soak in Your grace.

You remind me that I’m not alone,

In my King’s embrace.

When I need to feel You near,

I come to find You here.

You touch my soul

As You I hear.

When I need Your love,

YOU came to abide in my heart’s empty space.

Now, all I have to do is to curl up

In my King’s embrace.
