The Purple ButterflyA Poem by Melinda McQueenThe Purple Butterfly
Fluttering in the sunlight, It’s utterly free. Now filled with beauty; Far from where it used to be.
The purple butterfly Flew upon the wind. Soaring high, yet sometimes staying low Wherever it went.
To go where its destiny led Since transforming into itself. It remembers its life of old, How now it has come into its wealth.
The purple butterfly, It knows from whence it came. Graceful and unique, Yet, considers no fame.
It simply flies, Sometimes it rests on the highest treetop, And sometimes it will land on your nose To give you hope that you knew not.
The purple butterfly Soars in strength none could describe, Because God has designed its flight, Just as He has designed yours and mine.
Fluttering in the Son’s Light, We’re utterly free. Now filled with beauty, Far from where we used to be.
