Lord, Make Me an Answer

 

Create in me a soft, pliable heart;

One ready and willing to listen.

Let me be sensitive to another’s cry,

As a dear friend.

 

Let me remember that the hardships I’ve gone through

Are now stepping blocks which can lead others to Your grace.

So, may I smile in the face of adversity

As “Lord, make me an answer.” I say.

 

Filled with Your Spirit,

How can I not tell all about You?

May my typing fingers tell of Your amazing love,

And my life tell of Your mercies true.

 

Let me set my compassion on the brokenhearted,

For I have been broken too.

O how You masterfully arrange things,

Lord, make me an answer, to lead stray sheep to You.

 

Through my journey,

May I smile at all I meet.

For it may be

Just what they need.

 

When troubles come,

May I rest assure

That in my trials, I will hear You say,

“My child, make Me an answer.”
