The Ribbon of FaithA Poem by Melinda McQueenThe Ribbon of Faith
Letting the ribbon flow In the wind, Relieved she had finally let go; She watched it float on a current.
Though she could not see What kept it afloat, She knew it would end up where it was meant to be. A special ribbon, it carried a story of its own.
Feeling blessed to know its tale, It was time to set it free. After all, it had made its way to her upon a windy sail, And was kept until its purpose was complete.
Downtrodden was she When the ribbon found her. Taking it, she had decided to keep The ribbon in all its wonder.
The longer she kept it, The happier she became. It wasn’t magic, But more like grace.
She knew it was meant to be shared, So, one day she threw it up in a breeze. Sending it up with a prayer, The ribbon of faith was again released.
