My December WeddingA Poem by Melinda McQueenMy December Wedding
The sun
shone over A brisk breeze filled the air When my dream had its say.
The church soon filled with people I love While my sister slipped my heirloom wedding dress on me. With my heart filled with joy, I was ready to marry my Andy.
Ushered down a ramp leading into the sanctuary, Where I met my Daddy at its end. As he walked me down the aisle, I felt the necklace which I carried my Mama in.
With anticipation, I was escorted down to my future, To my handsome groom smiling at me. Vowing my love to him, I entrusted my heart, And his vows I believe.
Hand in hand before all, We were introduced as husband and wife. A blessed day occurred When two became one in Christ.
God had a plan… And with happy tears shedding… I will always remember My December Wedding.
