In My Shepherd's Shadow

In My Shepherd's Shadow

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

In My Shepherd’s Shadow

Journeying through this world

Lost and alone,

A sheep roaming,

With nothing to call my own.

All the times the sun refused to shine

And I couldn’t see a future in store,

Something always blocked my view

Of something I thought was more.

A cast away,

I was a black sheep.

Nowhere to go, nowhere to hide,

For my sins ran deep.

Then, one day I heard His voice,

Saying “Come, follow Me and be My own.”

I soon realized that I was

In my Shepherd’s shadow.

Now, the Son shines His grace,

And His mercy is bestowed.

I know that in the dark places I was protected

In my Shepherd’s shadow.

A black sheep was taken in

And made white as snow.

Forever taken care of

In my Shepherd’s shadow.

Wonderful story told in the poetry.
"A black sheep was taken in
And made white as snow.
Forever taken care of
In my Shepherd’s shadow"
When the kindness of God touches darkness. We can become white as snow. Thank you Melinda for sharing the amazing poetry.
