With Eyes Opened WideA Poem by Melinda McQueenWith Eyes Opened Wide
The wind blew Through the waving trees. A longing set in truth, For she believed.
Though the storm raged, And the path was long, She held to her faith When all went wrong.
Tightly and sweetly, She tucked her dreams inside. Fast asleep, Her eyes closed with a lullaby.
Her spirit sung Of her dreams, Seeing with believing eyes what’s begun In her reality.
So close, she can taste The savoring longing. Finding her grace In simply knowing.
Yes, she woke from her sleep To finally find That she could live her dream With eyes opened wide. © 2018 Melinda McQueen |
