Holy Like TheeA Poem by Melinda McQueenHoly Like Thee
Tear down my defenses, Rip out all ugliness. Cleansing heart and mind, To Thy will divine.
I release any anger, hurt I harbor So that Thy Name I honor. Let me be Holy like Thee.
For to praise Thy glorious Name Is the salve to my pain. Worthy of more I could ever offer, Still, Thy grace meets me at the alter.
Though I sin, Thy love pulls me back again. Spotless and new I long to be Holy like Thee.
Wash me in the baptism of Thy wondrous grace Until I dare to touch Thy face. As of now, I’m so unworthy, And need to be cleaned.
Even
so, I’ve been filled with Thy love-- Love that is more than enough. For the rest of my life, I seek to be Wholly like Thee. © 2017 Melinda McQueen |
