The Long ShadowA Poem by Melinda McQueenThe Long Shadow
The light penetrates, Making known it’s presence. Ever in its stay, The long shadow sent.
Following wherever I go, Always at my side. It ever shows In the light.
Though I’m small And at times I’m in my own light, It towers tall. The long shadow lives in the sunshine.
When I move Along my way, It moves too, Together in mid-day.
Illuminating my frame, The setting sun highlights A much needed steadfast faith, The long shadow resides.
Closing my eyes, My hope is deep, not shallow. For it will arrive, As the long shadow.© 2017 Melinda McQueenReviews
