The Long Shadow

The Long Shadow

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

The Long Shadow

The light penetrates,

Making known it’s presence.

Ever in its stay,

The long shadow sent.

Following wherever I go,

Always at my side.

It ever shows

In the light.

Though I’m small

And at times I’m in my own light,

It towers tall.

The long shadow lives in the sunshine.

When I move

Along my way,

It moves too,

Together in mid-day.

Illuminating my frame,

The setting sun highlights

A much needed steadfast faith,

The long shadow resides.

Closing my eyes,

My hope is deep, not shallow.

For it will arrive,

As the long shadow.

Amen- it will arrive keep on keeping on in faith- might be in the shadows but it’s there watching protecting and covering over you always- trials and tribulations we can get over as long as we believe all is possible- wonderful words🌹
